Deniz Ahmet Köse, Chef

Born in the Black Sea region of Turkey in 1984 and raised in Istanbul, Deniz Ahmet Köse is considered one of the top young talents in the country. He honed his skills at university in the U.S. at Johnson & Wales North Miami Campus, where he studied Culinary Arts. He has worked in Miami, London, Dubai and Istanbul at top restaurants including Nobu and Zuma, and was executive chef at Tom’s Kitchen Istanbul. He joined the NOPA team in September 2015, bringing a unique Asian and Nikkei Peruvian touch to the menu.

Kevin Patnode, Bartender

Kevin is from Rhode Island, USA, and worked in Shanghai and New York City prior to moving to Istanbul two years ago. He studied International Relations and Chinese before falling in love with cocktails and making a career in Hospitality. He doesn’t have a favorite cocktail, but thinks that everything tastes better with a little bourbon. Representing Turkey, he came 7th in the World Class competition. Kevin trains the bar team at NOPA and updates the cocktail menu, while also running his own bar, Külhanbeyi.
